Prism Budgeting

Privacy Policy

Your financial plan stays on your device. Here is how information is handled across our website and third-party services.

Effective and last updated: October 23, 2026

1. Scope and responsibility

This Privacy Policy explains how Prism Budgeting handles information when you visit our website, use our budget planner, request a printable template, or verify a Prism Pro license. Prism Budgeting is responsible for the processing it determines; independent providers are responsible for their own services under their privacy policies. This policy describes current practices and clearly identifies optional future analytics and advertising features.

2. Your financial numbers stay in your browser

Prism Budgeting does not store personal financial metrics or account credentials on server databases. All budget numbers stay locally inside your web browser during your session. Income, expenses, balances, debt calculations, savings goals, and investment projections are calculated on your device and are not uploaded to a Prism Budgeting server database.

The planner uses browser localStorage for autosave, so your financial numbers can remain on that browser and device after the session ends, including after closing the tab or restarting the browser. They are not limited to temporary session storage and are not automatically synchronized across devices. Currency, theme, and activation preferences may also be saved locally.

You control these local records through your browser’s site-data settings. Clearing Prism Budgeting’s site data removes saved plans and preferences; resetting the budget restores sample entries rather than deleting every local record. Private browsing may discard data when it closes. On a shared device, anyone with access to the browser profile may be able to view saved plans. Browser-native PDF export creates a file or printout under your control; keep exported documents secure.

The planner does not ask for banking usernames, passwords, account credentials, or access to financial accounts. Do not enter credentials, account numbers, or other sensitive identifiers in entry labels or forms. A Prism Pro license key is not a bank credential and is processed separately as described below.

3. Information you choose to submit

The free-template form collects your full name and email address and sends them to Formspree to process your request. This is separate from browser-local financial data: form submissions may be stored by Formspree and made available to the site operator. The form does not send your budget entries. Submission is voluntary; the budget planner remains available without a submission.

Prism Pro purchases occur on Gumroad. When you verify a license, the entered key passes through the website’s verification service to Gumroad, which may return purchase and license-status information. Prism Budgeting does not maintain a server database of your account credentials or financial metrics. Gumroad independently processes purchase, billing, and payment information. Payment-card details are not collected by the planner.

The Contact form currently does not accept submissions. If contact sending is enabled later, this policy will be updated to describe its handling. Do not submit sensitive financial information through any correspondence channel.

4. Technical information and service providers

Hosting, content delivery, security, and error-reporting services may process technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, timestamps, referrer information, request status, and diagnostic errors to deliver and protect the website. This does not mean your planner’s financial numbers are uploaded. Avoid placing personal information in page URLs, which can appear in technical logs.

The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which can receive your IP address and browser/request information when your browser requests font files. Providers may process information in countries different from yours. Where applicable, international transfers require appropriate legal safeguards, such as contractual protections or recognized adequacy arrangements.

5. Cookies, web beacons, and organic traffic analytics

Cookies are small browser records. Web beacons, also called tracking pixels, are small resources that can report a page view or another interaction. Analytical systems can use these technologies and similar identifiers to understand organic traffic patterns, including visits from search engines, referral sources, popular resources, device categories, and engagement with pages.

No dedicated third-party analytics tag, advertising cookie installation, or tracking beacon has been added to this website’s application code at the date of this policy. Hosting providers may still collect operational information as described above. Browser localStorage used for planner autosave is distinct from third-party tracking cookies.

If enabled in the future, the website may utilize third-party tracking cookies, web beacons, and analytical systems to monitor organic traffic patterns and improve content and site performance. The provider, collected data, purposes, and required choices must be disclosed before activation. Financial planner entries and account credentials must not be passed to these systems.

6. Advertising and Google AdSense compatibility

Prism Budgeting is compatible with third-party advertising vendors such as Google AdSense to serve relevant contextual promotions to visitors. Compatibility is not an indication that AdSense is currently installed: no AdSense advertising tag is present in the application code at the date of this policy.

If advertising is enabled, Google and other disclosed third-party vendors may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, device information, and page context to deliver ads, measure impressions and clicks, prevent fraud, and assess advertising performance. Contextual promotions relate to the content being viewed; personalized advertising may additionally use permitted information about visits to this and other websites. Contextual advertising does not automatically remove consent obligations for associated measurement or identifiers.

Google’s advertising cookies may allow Google and its partners to serve personalized ads based on visits to this or other websites, where legally permitted and subject to your choices. Your private budget numbers must not be used for advertising targeting. Learn about Google’s practices at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and manage Google ad personalization at https://myadcenter.google.com/. Participating vendors may offer additional choices at https://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or https://www.youronlinechoices.com/.

7. Consent, legal bases, and your choices

Where applicable, including under the EU and UK GDPR, processing requires an appropriate legal basis: providing a requested service, legitimate interests in secure website operation where those interests do not override your rights, compliance with legal obligations, or your consent for optional purposes. Submitting a template request is not consent to unrelated marketing or advertising data sharing.

Where prior consent is required, including under applicable electronic-privacy rules, non-essential analytics and advertising technologies must not run before valid consent. If no suitable consent mechanism is available, those technologies must remain blocked in consent-required or unresolved regions. An explicit refusal must be respected wherever applicable; accepting this policy alone does not grant advertising consent.

If optional tracking is introduced, visitors must be able to accept or reject it and later withdraw consent as easily as they gave it. Consent records should identify the visitor or choice reference, timestamp, notice version, purposes, providers, and choices shown, while retaining evidence of an earlier acceptance when it is later withdrawn. No tracking consent control is currently offered because the optional tags described above are not installed.

You can block or delete cookies and clear localStorage in your browser; clearing site data also removes saved plans. Browser restrictions may affect website functions. Vendor advertising choices do not necessarily stop every cookie or contextual ad. Applicable opt-out signals, including Global Privacy Control where required by law, must be honored if relevant advertising or data-sharing features are introduced. Do Not Track signals are not standardized and should not be assumed to disable all processing.

8. Sharing, retention, and security

Prism Budgeting does not sell your browser-local financial metrics. Submitted information and technical information may be disclosed to the relevant service providers to operate requested services, comply with lawful requirements, protect rights and security, or address a business transfer subject to appropriate protections. Providers’ independent practices are described in their own policies, including https://formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy/ and https://gumroad.com/privacy.

Browser-local data remains until you clear it or the browser removes it. Form, purchase, and technical records are subject to the relevant provider’s retention practices and applicable legal requirements. No universal retention period is promised for provider-held records. Information should be kept only as long as needed for its stated purpose or legal obligations.

We aim to limit information collection and use appropriate safeguards, but no website, device, transmission, or storage system is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your device, browser profile, downloaded PDFs, and license keys. Locally saved data is not a server backup and can be lost if your browser data is cleared.

9. Privacy rights and regional protections

Depending on your location and the processing involved, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, or receive a copy of personal information; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing; and complain to a competent data-protection authority. GDPR and UK GDPR rights apply where those laws cover the processing, and South Africa’s POPIA may provide applicable access, correction, objection, and complaint rights, including recourse to the Information Regulator.

Where the California CCPA/CPRA or other US state privacy laws apply, eligible visitors may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of sale, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, or targeted advertising, and to receive non-discriminatory treatment. Advertising integrations may constitute sharing under some laws even without payment. These rights are subject to statutory scope, exceptions, and reasonable identity verification; this policy does not claim every law applies to every visitor.

Prism Budgeting cannot retrieve or delete financial numbers held only in your browser; use your browser’s site-data controls for those records. For records held by Formspree or Gumroad, consult the provider’s privacy-request procedures. Do not send passwords, financial statements, or full payment details to verify a privacy request.

10. Children, external links, and policy updates

Prism Budgeting is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13; where local law requires a higher age or parental authorization, that requirement applies. A parent or guardian concerned about a submission should contact the relevant processing provider using its privacy channels.

External websites, including advertising destinations, operate under their own policies. A link does not make Prism Budgeting responsible for an independent service’s practices. We may update this policy when services, tracking, or legal requirements change and will revise the date below. Material changes requiring consent must not rely solely on continued website use.

11. Privacy contact

Privacy questions, requests, and complaints about this Privacy Policy or about how Prism Budgeting handles information can be sent to our privacy contact address: budgetcompound@gmail.com. Please tell us which page or service the request concerns, roughly when the interaction happened, and what you would like us to do, so we can respond without asking for unnecessary personal details.

For a template submission or a purchase record held by Formspree or Gumroad, you may also use the privacy contact instructions in those providers’ policies linked above; they can usually action a request about a record they hold most quickly. Prism Budgeting cannot retrieve or delete financial numbers stored only in your browser — use your browser’s site-data controls for those records.

Please do not send passwords, account credentials, full payment-card details, or complete financial statements to the privacy address. We will never ask for them, and messages containing them may be deleted.

We aim to acknowledge privacy enquiries within 30 days and to respond within a reasonable period that takes account of the request’s complexity and any applicable legal deadline. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with your competent data-protection authority, including the Information Regulator in South Africa where applicable.
